CHAPTER FOUR: MIA’S FIRST BATH.
Early the next morning, mummy was in the back garden, filling a big tub with water.
She called me, saying: “Mia, you smell awful! You’re a very dirty puppy!”
I looked at her, once more turning my head from side to side.
She picked me up and carried me to the tub. “You need a good bath, Mia.
You must have crawled into very dirty places! I need to wash you down with lots of soap and water!”
Caw! Caw! Caw! “Dirty puppy! Dirty puppy!”
Chow the Crow was sitting on his favourite fence-pole in the corner of the vegetable garden, watching us.
“Good morning, Chow the Crow!” I greeted him, with a ‘Woooooof! Woooooof’!
Caw! Caw! Caw! “Good morning Mia! Good Morning Mia!” he returned my greeting.
